Management for people who work in health. Sixteen units on running a hospital, a clinic or a care service — written for clinicians and administrators, not for accountants.
Healthcare promotes its best clinicians into management and then leaves them to work out budgets, rosters, governance and law on their own. This diploma is the structured version of that education, and it is aimed squarely at doctors, nurses, clinical directors and healthcare administrators.
The focus is management, not clinical practice. Sixteen units cover the healthcare business environment, operations, health and safety and infection control, resource and financial management, communication with patients and between teams, equality and inclusion, healthcare law, HR, team management and professional supervision.
It sits at SCQF Level 8, 240 credit points, which is degree-entry level. Graduates move into healthcare management roles or continue into a final-year degree such as the Arden University BSc (Hons) Health and Care Management top-up taught at ADVEX.
In exceptional cases ADVEX may admit an applicant who does not hold the stated entry qualifications, where we judge that they can complete the programme successfully.
Healthcare management roles such as Healthcare Manager, Clinical Operations Manager or Health Services Administrator, or progression to a final-year degree including the Arden University BSc (Hons) Health and Care Management top-up delivered at ADVEX.
This diploma is the standard entry route to the final year of an Arden University bachelor’s degree, taught at ADVEX in Bangkok. Entry is assessed individually.
