Learning Support Centre

Thailand & Southeast Asia
The Role

Local support for learners who study at a distance.

ADVEX learners study online while working. That model succeeds when there is somewhere nearby to sit down with a tutor and somewhere to gather for a workshop. An appointed Learning Support Centre is that place in its own region.

A centre is appointed by ADVEX to deliver two things to learners in its area: supplementary tuition alongside the online curriculum, and on-site workshops held during the academic year. The programmes, the curriculum and the assessment remain with ADVEX and the awarding institution. The centre provides the venue, the local teaching capability and the face-to-face contact.

What an appointed centre does

  • Hosts supplementary tuition for ADVEX learners enrolled in its region
  • Hosts on-site workshops and study sessions scheduled with ADVEX
  • Provides a physical venue suitable for teaching and small group work
  • Provides teaching staff whose qualifications meet the requirements of the programmes concerned
  • Acts as a local point of contact for learners, alongside ADVEX learner services

Who we are looking for

Organisations that already teach. If you have premises, teaching staff and a track record of delivering learning, you are the profile we are appointing:

  • Universities and higher education institutions
  • Vocational and technical colleges
  • Schools, both within the formal system and outside it
  • Language schools and tutorial institutes
  • Corporate training and professional development companies

Appointments are open across Thailand and throughout Southeast Asia.

Requirements

Two things are fixed: a physical venue, and teaching staff who meet the qualification requirements of the programmes the centre supports. Those requirements are set by each programme rather than by us in general terms — supporting a qualification at SCQF Level 8, for instance, calls for a different standard than supporting a master's degree. We assess this against your actual capability during the appointment process rather than asking you to measure yourself against a checklist first.

Commercial terms
Terms, including any consideration payable in either direction, are discussed once due diligence is complete. We do not publish them, and we do not quote them on a first call. This protects both sides: you get terms based on what your centre will actually deliver, and we appoint centres on capability rather than on price.
A learner studying online should still have somewhere to go and someone to ask.
On-site workshop
On-site workshops are part of the ADVEX delivery model, not an optional extra.
