At ADVEX we value the knowledge and skills you have gained through past experience. Through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process, our accredited programmes allow previous learning — formal, non-formal or informal — to be recognised and credited towards your qualification.
| Formal learning | Structured programmes at a school, college or university that resulted in a recognised qualification |
| Non-formal learning | Structured training outside formal education — workplace training, professional development, workshops |
| Informal learning | Experience, self-directed learning and practice — on-the-job skills, community engagement, personal projects |
Lifelong learning is a national priority in Thailand, and a degree you earned years ago is one of the strongest forms of prior learning we assess. ADVEX delivers top-up routes at both levels:
Neither route asks you to start again. Both are assessed case by case, and the outcome is confirmed to you in writing.
RPL is available once you are enrolled as a learner on an ADVEX programme, because prior learning is always assessed against the criteria of a specific qualification rather than in the abstract. Enrol first, then submit your request.
Requests and portfolios are submitted through the ADVEX self-service system, which every enrolled learner can access directly. Open the RPL menu to start a request, upload your evidence and track its progress. Current RPL fees are listed in the same menu.

ADVEX is an educational institution approved by the Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC), Ministry of Education Thailand, to operate a credit bank. Credit banking allows learning to be recorded and accumulated over time rather than expiring, so a module completed now can count towards a qualification you begin later.
ADVEX is also the awarding body for its own qualifications, which means prior learning submitted for an ADVEX programme is assessed and credited directly by ADVEX. Where a qualification is credit rated or awarded by another body, recognition is determined together with that body.
We discuss your prior learning and how it aligns with your chosen programme, and advise on the evidence required.
Either a portfolio — certificates, training records, employer endorsements, reflective accounts — or a challenge test: a practical assessment, interview or written test.
Qualified academic staff assess your evidence against the programme or module criteria to determine credits or exemptions.
Credits reduce the workload required to complete your qualification, letting you focus on advanced learning rather than repeating ground already covered.
