Overview
Awarded by the University of Geomatika Malaysia.
A research doctorate in educational theory and practice, aimed at evidence-based answers to problems the candidate already works on.
A fully research-based doctorate for educators, scholars, institutional leaders and professionals working on educational theory, policy and practice. You take two audited modules and then develop the thesis itself under supervision, with the emphasis on independent inquiry and a theoretical contribution to a live educational problem. One-to-one supervision from international faculty, alongside doctoral colloquia, research seminars, workshops and publication training.
The programme is offered, delivered and assessed by Geomatika. Teaching staff, supervisors and examiners are appointed by the university. ADVEX Management School is the appointed Online and Distance Learning partner: academic guidance, research support and local sessions in the Thai time zone.

How you study
- HyFlex attendance — Each week you choose how you attend — on site at ADVEX in Bangkok, live online, or asynchronously in your own time. All three count equally as attendance and you are not locked into one mode for the term.
- Competency-based assessment — Assessed through assignments and projects drawn from your own workplace. There are no invigilated written examinations.
- Collaborative learning — Group work and workshops with a cohort drawn from across Thailand and beyond.
- Language — Taught and assessed in English, with revision sessions and academic advice available in Thai. Applicants without evidence of English proficiency may take the ADVEX English Intensive Course or a free online CEFR test.
- Support from ADVEX — As the appointed Online and Distance Learning partner in Bangkok, ADVEX handles registration, academic coordination, research methods training and seminars. The curriculum, teaching and assessment are delivered by faculty appointed by Geomatika.
