A professional doctorate for practitioners leading change inside education systems, with specialisations in Education Management or Instructional Technology.

A mixed-mode doctorate combining advanced coursework with original research, written for education professionals, school leaders, managers, lecturers and researchers. Ten core modules are shared by all candidates, six specialisation modules follow the pathway you choose, and a doctoral thesis carries the specialism through to an original contribution. The coursework builds the theoretical and methodological base; the research applies it to a live problem in your own institution. One-to-one supervision from international faculty, alongside doctoral colloquia, research seminars, workshops and publication training.

The programme is offered, delivered and assessed by Geomatika. Teaching staff, supervisors and examiners are appointed by the university. ADVEX Management School is the appointed Online and Distance Learning partner: academic guidance, research support and local sessions in the Thai time zone.

Twenty-four to thirty-six months, depending on your progression through each stage and on approval by the university.

How you study

• HyFlex attendance — Each week you choose how you attend — on site at ADVEX in Bangkok, live online, or asynchronously in your own time. All three count equally as attendance and you are not locked into one mode for the term.
• Competency-based assessment — Assessed through assignments and projects drawn from your own workplace. There are no invigilated written examinations.
• Collaborative learning — Group work and workshops with a cohort drawn from across Thailand and beyond.
• Language — Taught and assessed in English, with revision sessions and academic advice available in Thai. Applicants without evidence of English proficiency may take the ADVEX English Intensive Course or a free online CEFR test.
• Support from ADVEX — As the appointed Online and Distance Learning partner in Bangkok, ADVEX handles registration, academic coordination, research methods training and seminars. The curriculum, teaching and assessment are delivered by faculty appointed by Geomatika.

Entry requirements

• A master's degree, or an equivalent qualification
• English proficiency at CEFR B1 or equivalent. Applicants without evidence of English proficiency may take the ADVEX English Intensive Course or a free online CEFR test.
